(a) I got a bill from Allstate for December's insurance. I'm not supposed to get bills from Allstate. They do electronic withdrawal -- there's only a $1.50 fee for paying them electronically, instead of $10 for using a check, or $3 for showing up in person. There's no method of paying them that doesn't incur a fee.

Checking my bank statement, they did electronic withdrawal for December. Calling my agent, he told me to ignore the bill. But they kept sending me increasingly nasty bills, and my agent was apparently on vacation, because he didn't get back to me until today, to tell me that oh yes, I was supposed to pay the bill after all, because it was for the difference between the old policy and the new policy, which they hadn't just deducted because he was stupid and screwed up the transfer.

Except that it was for more than the difference, or rather it was from the 'we can reduce your bill to $200 from $100' instead of the later 'we can actually reduce it all the way to $140'. Bah.

(b) 'Kate' from Honda called to tell me that my car actually wasn't under warrantee, because she'd had me sign the wrong warrantee form, and the company had 'rejected the warrantee application'. Which I'd already payed for. Or well, was already paying for. Or, well, would have already been paying for, see (c) below. So I had to come in and sign the right form.

(c) I asked her why they never sent me a bill. Was the payment starting in January? She told me that the first payment was due on 12/22... eventually she called the lienholder, and found out that they had a bizarrely wrong address for me -- at least three typos -- and gave me the information to send in a check without the bill. Argh.

At any rate, annoying as all this is, I think it's all taken care of now. Although that's what I thought a couple weeks ago.
