The Terror of Performance Review Time
Aug. 28th, 2003 05:31 pm... I was promoted. And told to 'keep doing what I'm doing' since I was 'already working at the higher level'. And then given a list of new, scary tasks that I should 'try', although they weren't formally added to my goals.
*whimper*
OTOH it means I don't have to worry about the supposed 'up or out' policy that I heard about from one guy and then from no one else ever, even when I asked. OTOOH it means that I can expect correspondingly lower review scores for the same work, which is why I've been sort of casually avoiding promotion for five years.
So I guess this means I'm a failure? }:P
OTOOOH I'm still financially secure enough not to have to worry overly much if this somehow eventually results in losing my job, so hell with it, I'll be happy.
