Package in Limbo
Aug. 15th, 2003 09:28 amI ordered some Doonesbury collections from Amazon, and they should have been here by now. In fact, I kind of suspect that they *are* here by now, and that the cryptic message I got on my answering machine was the UPS guy trying to get in touch with me while I was out. The package might even be in the office right now, although the office is generally uninhabited and locked. I expected them to put the package in front of my door, like the old management used to, but it's been two days...
Last time I had a package, I eventually got a thingie mailed to me telling me to come pick it up. That adds another week to the delivery time, though.
[edit: Actaully... it looks like they're changing to a 'sign out the package' deal, which should be workable if they keep the office inhabited. I was able to get the package this morning after all. And signing things out is preferable to leaving them on the doorstep given the frequency of people tailgating or pennying the exterior doors open...]
