Lunch...

There were a few testers at lunch today, even though it was Monday. Apparently only some of them have their weekly meeting during lunch. Those of us who were present listed the criteria for a sensible meeting plan:

  • Not before 11, if you want developers to actually show up. 10am meetings have about a 50% dev attendance rate, any earlier and they won't even *try*.
  • Not anytime between 11 and 2, since anywhere in there is lunchtime for *somebody*.
  • Not after 4, especially on Fridays, since some people will have gone home for the day or week.

Derek, a test lead, nodded his head and confirmed that indeed, 2-4 pm was solid meetings every day.

Once again, I managed to make everyone wait for me to finish my lunch. I'd had a grilled cheese sandwich, which took way too long to make, and a bowl of portabella and lentil soup, which sparked an argument with the cashier about whether it was a 'medium' or a 'large' soup -- apparently, they don't *have* a medium, or at least that's the story they eventually fell back on when I showed them the two other sizes of soup cup, one smaller than the one I used and one larger.

I also had some curly fries, but they were cold and stiff and inedible. Fortunately, the cashier forgot to charge me in the confusion.

The main delay was in eating the soup. It was really fricking hot, and the cup was pretty damn huge. The mushrooms were hot and firm and squishy, which is a bad combination with my teeth, and I had to basically eat around them. Which was slow.

I need to see a dentist. v.v And relearn C++.
