Today for lunch a bunch of us went out to Red Robin to have a 'Farewell Party' for Angel... I barely know her, but I knew a bunch of the other people who were going, so I went along.

And it was pretty fun. We sat outside enjoying the lovely weather, and talked about the reports that Boeing's going to effectively shut down their puget sound operations, and how blue the sky is here compared to the midwest, and the best way to get ketchup out of a bottle, and various quotable movies, and about how the testers/developers/program managers were getting drunk and how that explained a lot, and how Apple was screwing us and their customers, and notably not to or about Angel, who was just out of earshot from my little section of table.

After some serving snafus (dropped trays full of drinks, lemon where it wasn't wanted, no lemon where it was wanted, and MSG on the fries of someone who's allergic to it) the food arrived, and it was... well, Red Robin food. Fairly decent but horribly overpriced burgers. A couple people couldn't help playing with their food, because apparently we *are* still in college, despite being middle aged professionals, to use the term loosely.

And now I'm late for the next party, celebrating my manager's manager's 5 year anniversary of working here. I wonder if I'll actually have time to get any work done?

Edit: Aside from the obligatory Jamba Juice and clock and speech for a 5-year service award party, Geoff decided he wanted to play Xbox, so we played some basketball game... I was on his team, and we lost, but it was close. The score ended up 151 to 155 with 9 minute quarters, which is kind of silly, but neither side could really figure out how to do defense.

And it only took an hour, so there *is* time to get work done, theoretically.
