The network was down at work today, so I was forced to do some work. Luckily, it came back up, so I can slack again. Heh heh.
I'm really happy that the war in Iraq seems to be going well -- it validates my current policy of basing international relations on 'what would I do if this was a game of civ 2 or alpha centauri'. If we'd taken heavy casualties, I'd be forced to use the 'civ' model which is much more random.
If this was a game of alpha centauri, the next step would be to invade whoever happened to be in the general area of my built up concentration of troops -- it's not like anyone in the region is a threat. And international relations are so screwed up that you might as well just roll dice to see what result your actions have.
Also, I'd start heavily rebuilding Iraq so that it could contribute tanks and infantry to reinforce existing troops without taking ten years to ship them across the ocean.
