So, I went to Best Buy to get a new controller for both the PS2 (my controller broke, and I've been using the old PSX controller) and my XBox (I wanted a second one), and of course while I'm there I have to also pick up some Slayers DVDs, and some games... sigh. I hope I'm never poor.

Anyway, one of the games I got was Baldur's Gate Dark Alliance II, which I spent some time playing last night and this morning. I started out playing the goody-two-shoes cleric, but it turns out that (surprise surprise) the cleric is a support character intended for multiplayer, and is godawful weak in single player. And worse, godawful boring.

So this morning I started over with the Dark Elf Monk, who seems to just go around generally kicking ass, without worrying about recasting buffs every 30 seconds. Much more enjoyable, AND I got as far in fifteen minutes of playing as I had in the first hour as the cleric. Which is just sad.
