Argh. ARGH. aRgHlGlLxpdfiadfigeing

Since I got back from vacation, work has consisted of two things:
(a) Trying to fix breaks in the quicktest that don't look like my fault so that I can check in.
(b) Trying to fix bugs that I can't reproduce.

These are both insanely frustrating because it's impossible to actually accomplish anything on either of them. (a) is mostly gone by now, at least -- there's one thing left that I can have not come up by carefully deleting files before running the quicktest in a clean directory (like the build machines, and apparently the idiot who checked in the bug, do). None of the problems turns out to be my fault.

(b) entered new levels of 'WTF' when I decided to install a clean setup build to see if the changes I haven't been able to check in because of (a) might be responsible. After going through a grueling process of getting a setup build to graciously allow me to run it, it crashed.

Then it crashed again. Then it crashed some more. All in different ways.

Again, none of it looks like my fault, especially since it's THE FREAKING SETUP BUILD that's identical to what everyone else is running. No one else is seeing these crashes! It doesn't make any sense!

I must be using an alternate universe macintosh, or something, with subtly different OS bugs than the macs everyone else has.
