Weekend Update

Saturday was mostly city of heroes, with a break in the middle for watching some television.

During daylight, the PvP zones were still pretty devoid of PvP -- there was a continuous battle on the beach near the hero base in Warburg, but (a) you could go around, and (b) they didn't seem to be into ganking people who weren't fighting back. I actually stood around for about three minutes trying to target someone to line up a snipe, and they didn't turn and try to kill me until I hit build up. }:P I got away alive, but didn't get a shot off. Sigh.

I don't think my connection is fast enough for PvP -- with other people on screen fighting each other, I'm lagged to hell and back... I wouldn't stand a chance, although I was able to run away by basically not looking at them.

Avoiding PvP was easy, though, at least for now -- no villains around yet, so two of the three PvP zones were perfectly safe. I didn't get any missions against Shivans, and didn't want to risk street-hunting, but I got to see two new tilesets (Freedom Corps and Arachnos bases) and fight some Arachnos (who are annoying, but have a pretty varied lineup).

I also did some pokemon battles, although the self-proclaimed server champ had what seemed like a completely unfair team -- two 'Archmages of Agony' which had gravity control, kinetics, and (most annoyingly) an ungodly defense, resistance and hitpoints, and three 'Calibans' which were severely underpriced for their durability and damage, even when *not* boosted by a pair of kineticists. Nothing I had compared; nothing anyone else had compared. The archmages were just totally unfair.

ED with K'eri was annoying (AM and hasten kept going down) but I generally was okay -- the team could cover for the downtimes, and I reslotted to put put extra recharges in fossilize, stalagmites, and volcanic gases, so I wasn't *that* bad off while they were down and actually better off overall on volcanic gases (whose recharge is long enough that an entire hasten/am up-down cycle is inside it). My blaster, Cinnamon, was somehow noticably worse with ED proper than with just ED slotting in I5 -- I got a little frustrated trying to play her and ended up going to the arena for the aforementioned pokemon battles. Slinker was exactly the same with ED as with ED slotting, but I think I'm bored of him again (if there's a strategy playing a character with four melee attacks and a bunch of passives, I don't see it) and will put him back on the shelf for another couple months.

And no one else had SOs anyway.

Sunday, the southcenter gathering was pretty deserted, but there were more people over at Legend's later. This is disturbing, since Lazar wants to move the Friday game to Sunday nights, which means that while I could still go to the mall part, I wouldn't be there for the followup.

We watched 'Batman Begins' and played a bunch of magic. I traded Lex a couple Vigor Mortises out of the Golgari deck for a Gleancrawler, since he begged pitifully and I figured I can always use zombify for almost the same effect. I wanted his Savra, but didn't really have any tradestock with me, and he refused to trade it for anything except a Circu. Until later on Kitsunetaur convinced him to trade it for a sisters of stone death! Gaaah.

Then most everyone left, and Legend kept us up late into the night listening to old radio shows about 'Rocky Roccocco' and company. They were pretty funny, although they got too chaotic to follow in places.
