'Fun' with d-travel and gadgeteering
This game just isn't going anywhere. We had a session of the GURPS Neverwhere game that I'm running, and once again, not much happened.
Most of the night was spent with Murdock looking up the rules for designing his gadgets. Since, you know, it takes him a few minutes in game-time to build more or less anything he wants, but hours or real-time to figure out what exactly it'll end up as. v.v
Trapped in an abandoned and only slightly-looted gun store, the party decided to... leave so that Don could build John powered exoskeletal arms to increase his effective arm strength. There was some messing about with Between, but they wandered down into the tunnels, which only existed in Athens East, and got back into that real world. Not all at the same time.
They also ran into more nobles, and (with varying degrees of politeness) were directed to the native village, where the inhabitants of Athens had been evacuated to due to the problems caused by the totems in the church.
On the way, they were attacked by a scythe-armed spirit, of the sort Charlie used to consort with, which tried to kill John. The car's armor absorbed the initial swing, and after a few false starts Kitten managed to drive it off... although keeping it away for the whole fifteen minutes until they reached the village exhausted him.
In the village, they found that the Ceremony was the normal bloodletting ceremony -- the nobles had relocated here along with their families, although a few spent the days in the Athens tunnels to keep an eye on their worldly possessions. The natives were not too happy about having a bunch of vampires in their midst, but apparently they were more numerous, wealthy, and tightly allied with Athens than they had been when it was John and Don and Charlie -- and they had a poweful new shaman who maintained the wards around the village to keep out enemies.
John decided to spend the night with a loose woman from Athens, who looked just like a girl who'd tried to sleep with him in Athens Industrial, and who he suspected of freezing various people to death. Somehow, he survived the night, perhaps due to the various protective enchantments Kitten had put on him.
